Children’s rights and business

We were commissioned by Save the Children and their Centre for Child Rights and Business in China (CCR CSR) to create communications material that would inspire companies to work with children’s rights as part of their business.

We interviewed leaders and sustainability experts at companies around the world who were at different stages in their work with child rights. We also met and interviewed children, parents and employees about their experiences and how companies are relevant to making a change in their lives. We used video, photographs and text to bring their voices to others.

The production took us to China, Kenya, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands.

The delivered material is used by Save the Children and CCR CSR on their websites, in meetings, pitches and presentations to companies and other actors.

The total output was 15 interview films; 2 presentation films; 20 written case stories; presentation material; 450 photographs with captions and a 52-page brochure.

We interviewed representatives from Samsung Electronics, IKEA, Accenture, Safaricom, TOP-TOY, ICA, Dongguan Concord Pottery, Stora Enso, Clas Ohlson and Swedbank Robur. We also interviewed children of migrant parents, parents, employees and their families as well as social workers and activists.

Unsaid lead the overall project and managed the production, which included hiring of production staff, production planning, production on location and post production. We used in-house photographers as well as freelancers, including experienced TV producers. We worked closely with Save the Children’s staff in Kenya and Sweden as well as with CCR CSR’s staff in Hong Kong and Beijing.
